Taking the Plunge

As some may or may not know, I will be getting married on July 7, 2012. The interesting thing, other than the fact that I have found someone who will marry me, is that our current discussion is over the music at the reception.

She seems to think that my steady diet of 'Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds', 'The Pogues', 'Tom Waits', 'The Tea Party' and 'Johnny Cash' will not be well received by the guests. She would like to thing that her song list will enjoy a '2 to 1' ratio over my song list. She has since 'compromised' to say that I can have a '1 to 1' ratio, but she gets final approval of any of my songs.

Of course, this woman of mine is fine with mainstream bands also on my list like 'The Kinks', 'The Beatles', 'The Who', and 'Paul McCartney'.

Keeping in mind, this will not be a traditional wedding reception with all those crazy things the kids do these days. We are just getting together with some family and friends - free booze and food will be provided and a good time will be had by all.

So I will be playing songs like this...

and this...

and this...

and those are just the Nick Cave songs :)

It has been that kind of week...

I have had one of those weeks...it feels like I am treading water, not going anywhere. Maybe it is the weather which cannot decide if it wants to be cold and raining, cold and snowing, or warm and raining. Gotta love the Ohio winters. Just the end of a blah week, but hopefully won't be a blah weekend.

We are playing some AD&D; the kids game, which should be fun on Sunday. It has been a very long time since I had 7 players around the table.

This song has been on my playlist all week..

Not much else to say - thanks for tuning in - you know you don't have to :)

The state of things...

Have not posted anything is awhile, so just writing something for the 2 people that might read this...

Spent the weekend of January 6-8 in Indianapolis - I wrote about that here. Had a wonderful experience at the Red Roof Inn I stayed at. I should have known better when I pulled into the near empty parking lot.

Bash Con is coming up - I had previous post about that here.

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
~ Winston Churchill

Working on my first official writing project for publication...now I know why I never did it before. This is not an easy thing to do, mainly because I think I am over thinking it.

Bought a new computer - it is amazing what a system that is not running Windows 2000 can do.

Also had to buy new tires for my 3 year old vehicle - what joy!

Back to work - I have an editor that I need to keep a promise to!
